Wow. Just wow. It's an amazing game, working like an interactive story, and having some of the best storytelling I have seen in a very long time. I also loved the pixel art aspect of the game. Really added some aesthetic!
I really like the story, even though it's a bit complicated to directly understand.
I think the characters are well written and that it could represent how things could be in the future with the love ones being replace by android.
I like how Ash's story affected the dective into pratically doing the same thing that he did but with the android that replaced her dead/dying son (I think he is dead but I'm not sure).
Hey! This was really cool, I love the use of GB as a storytelling medium.
I will be following your studio, and would love to see works from ya’ll that include player agency (I know that isn’t what you were going for with this kinetic novel, but I think this style would work fantastically with some more interaction).
I was a bit weirded out by everyone just having guns - is that part of the sci-fi element, or reflective of the culture where ya’ll are from?
wow…the plotline of this story was very deep and heart breaking. i love the pixel art style and the transitions (which made it more eerie). u def deserve more recognition
I didn't understand this game at all, but I'm sure it has deep and important meaning. If you don't mind could you explain it to me? Amazing game overall, I love it!
hi, i didn't watch your video but i'll answer your question in two ways.
So literally what happens in the story is a transgender kid who has a bad relationship with their mother finds out that their mom (who they haven't seen in years) replaced them with an android of them pre-transition. they kill their mom after confronting them. the detective investigating the murder goes home to her own child android, who is a replacement for her dead child that she also had a bad relationship with. the detective shoots her android, feeling the guilt of replacing her child with a "ideal" version of her child.
On a deeper level, it's about someone being replaced by someone else's "ideal" of what they want that person to be. There are a lot of specific points of inspiration I had writing this, from AI image generators stealing people's artwork, to my own relationship with my mom. It's not intended to be a "trans story" specifically (I think feeling unseen or disrespected by people you care about is a universal experience) but I bet most people saying it hit close to home in the comments are trans or gay people who understand the feeling of your parents or loved ones not really seeing you for who you are, rather seeing you as they want to see you.
This was an awesome story to read through! I really love how the music ties into the events of the game and how well the character's facial expressions are drawn!

I love this so much. Incredibly impactful speculative sci-fi in a 10 minute long package. I aspire to make art this good lol <3

I've stumbled upon this completely randomly and I loved it
This destroyed me in its 10 minute runtime, well done devs

A DIFFERENT ME
i love this to death oh my god, the way this is structured is so effective. also an impressive take on a pre-existing sci-fi trope.
Gorgeous and powerful. Very very nice work!
Really cool to see GBstudio used in a VN format and really loved the story...well done!
Finally played the rest, short but still felt uncomfortable as definitely feels like a plausible thing for our parents to do that.
Really gorgeous portraits and figures. Thanks for sharing!
This game seems so cool but I literally cannot find out how to start it TvT

Very poignant. Hits very, very close to home.
it's short sweet and beautiful, well done
great art, but the constant black cuts are really jarring and kinda nauseating, atleast for me.
Beautiful art
